They help your liver and pancreas deliver digestive fluids to your intestines. For ERCP, your doctor uses an endoscope, a flexible, lit-up tube. It's about the same thickness as your index finger. Through the duodenum, the first section of the small intestine, it enters your body through your mouth and moves into your stomach. The doctor will then insert a tiny, flexible plastic tube through the scope with a dye that can be seen on X-rays.
