They transport digestive fluids to your intestines from your liver and pancreas. Your doctor uses an "endoscope," a flexible, illuminated tube, for ERCP. Its thickness is comparable to that of your index finger. It enters your body through your mouth and travels through the "duodenum," the first segment of the small intestine, into your stomach. The physician will then inject some dye that is visible on X-rays through a tiny, flexible plastic tube that is passed through the scope.
